Melges MC SCOW 16′ one design sailboat with trailer Picture(s) and Description:

This is an older model MC Scow, hull number MFB-M-0478-1077, the 478th one built. This is a project boat, due to the bottom needing repair. The rest of the boat is in good condition, with great sails, running rigging and spars. The trailer is also in good condition, with only some surface rust. Recently hauled from South Carolina to Virginia. This boat was sailed and raced last summer, but this spring it was found to have some small cracks in the bottom which allowed the double hull to fill with water. When the boat was rolled over a stone punched a small home in the bottom, due to the weight of the water in the hull. The photo shows where the hull was ground down with a sander to see the extent of the cracking. Options are to do repairs on the bottom and have a good usable boat, or to part out the boat. Priced much less than the value of the parts, in hopes that someone can again enjoy the boat, as a good trainer or just for fun sailing. The MC Scow is one of the most popular one design sailboats. It is raced with one or two crew, depending on the wind. More info on MC Scows is available at www.mcscow.org On Jun-30-10 at 10:23:10 PDT, seller added the following information: This is an older model MC Scow, hull number MFB-M-0478-1077, the 478th one built.
