11’2″ Shellback Dinghy lightly used Picture(s) and Description:
11'2" Shellback Dinghy Bid History: One and Two My neighbor, Jerry, built this Joel White-designed "Shellback" in 2005. He and his grandchildren enjoyed sailing it the summer of that year. It has not been used since the summer of 2005. During its downtime it rested high and dry on its cradle and was never left in the water. Since 2005 it has been stored in a cool, dry basement. This hull is in nearly perfect condition. Jerry built his Shellback with okoume marine plywood and epoxy, and finished with epoxy clearcoat and epoxy paint. The rudder blade and daggerboard are laminated okoume plywood; the rudder stock and tiller are oak. Gunwales and inwales are oak. The thwarts (seats) are pine. Jerry did not build the designed rig for this boat, but instead used a lateen rig from an old sailboard. The yellow and white sail shown proved to be a good fit, and the boat sailed very nicely. However, the nylon sail is greatly deteriorated. For that reason the red and white sail shown is also included, although it is larger and would need to be cut down to fit the spars shown on the boat. Oars are included. The cradle shown under the boat is also included. Located in Hackensack, MN. Boats this size are not titled in Minnesota. Comes with Minnesota registration (non-current) and bill of sale. No shipping offered. $500 deposit due at end of auction.
